Have you ever googled your own name?
I do not consider myself vain, but I must admit that I have checked myself out a time or two. Back in the day, finding the right combination of search terms to get the real me in the result list was a lot easier than today. Now it is tough to get past all the NY Mets players and down to the playersthat I am interested in....
A few weeks back I received an email from LinkedIn suggesting I connect to 'David Wright'. I did not know this particular David Wright, so I declined. It did get me thinking though - how many people named David Wright are on LinkedIn? The answer is just over two thousand. You read right, there are over two thousand of me out there roaming the net -- and that is just on one network. I am surely more prevelant than that if you took the internet as a whole.
With this new-found information I decided to take the only logical course of action: UNITE!
Clearly the first step in convincing over 2,000 of me to join was to create a snazzy logo:
Maybe snazzy is a reach, but it is a logo and it only took me three weeks to complete it.
Now for the fun part: Inviting all of me to join the group. It is a time-consuming task, but has already been rewarding. We are a very diverse group, and many of the responses I have received so far have been funny.
That's all for now. I will update you as the project progresses....
PS - If anyone knows David Wright of the NY Mets, let him know we need a keynote speaker for our group conference.
